My Gang

My Gang
Greasers will still be greasers and Socs will still be Socs. Sometimes I think it’s the ones in the middle that are really the lucky stiffs. -Randy

Easier to Run

Today I listened a song called “Easier to Run” It’s lyrics are very similar to Randy and especially Dally. Dally was the tuffest in our gang. He never showed his emotions and he never cried. He always kept his secrets in his heart. His wounds were so deep they never showed. But after Johnny’s death, he got sick of everything. Everything came too much. He wanted to run away and forget everything. He didn’t want to face his pains. He thought it was easier to run. That’s why he wanted to kill himself. He went to a market and stole something. Finally, cops killed him.
I think this song is also similar to Randy’s situation. Randy also wanted to forget his pain. After Bob’s death, he understood fighting was not good. He said “Greasers will still be greasers and Socs will still be Socs. Sometimes I think it’s the ones in the middle that are really the lucky stiffs.”
